About The Developer
Clyde Lorance grew up on a farm east of Lebanon Missouri with his mother, father and four sisters. Although he didn't have indoor plumbing, running water, television or a telephone until he was 13, he has said he wouldn't trade his childhood with anyone on the planet. Clyde has said on many occasions his early years on his parents farm is where he gained his true appreciation for nature, clean water and a pristine environment.

Clyde served in the United States Marine Corps in 1969-1970. He was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps after being seriously wounded in action in Vietnam. After returning from military duty, he continued his education and graduated from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. Clyde met his wife Carol in 1970 and they were married the following year. They have two children Brooke Arnold, of Belton Texas, and Tyler of Springfield Missouri.

His business career began with the United States Department of Agriculture in 1970. From 1981 until 1991 he owned a commodity brokerage firm. From the time Clyde graduated from High School, he has bought, sold and developed real estate.

Clyde and his wife Carol purchased the property now known as Saddlebrooke in the early 90s. Saddlebrooke today totals over 4,000 acres. His dream was to build the finest Master Planned Community in the Midwest. He waited ten years before he felt the timing was right and then put together a team of professionals to build Saddlebrooke that are still with him today. Though he owns several businesses including commercial real estate he has developed in Missouri, New Jersey and Delaware totaling over 135,000 sq ft. Saddlebrooke is the one he devotes his time to. Clydes corporate headquarters are located in Saddlebrooke and this is also where they make their home. "I want to be here and accessible to the residents of Saddlebrooke." Planning the development of the remaining property is a constant project and he has no plans of slowing down. Carol says, "We are doing what we love and still enjoy it as much now as ever."
